Number Series a concept, where the expectation of skills are implemented with the analytical and critical thinking process. any candidate has to expect the next upcoming value of the number with own/available methodologies.

For Example:

  • If a candidate has Number 1, 3, 5, 7, ?, …soon, then a candidate easily states that next number as per odd rule of mathematics and also same passed in even rule also, like 2, 4, 6 ,8 10.
  • Candidate should aware of mathematical calculations by building own mathematical formulas or equations, whenever it applies by using basic functions of maths like, (a+b)^2 = a^2+b^2+2ab (fundamemtal equations)

Examples of Number Series:

  1. Series: 5, 11, 6, 12, 7, 13, … What number should come next?

Answer: B

Explanation: This is a simple alternating addition and subtraction series.

2. Series: 21, 20, 24, 23, 25, 24, … What number should come next?

Answer: C

3. 1, 9, 125, 49, 729, 121, 2147

A. 2147

B. 729

C. 125

D. 1

Answer: C

4. 1 2 12 63 316 ?

Solution:

1 * 1 + 13 = 2

2 * 2 + 23 = 12

12 * 3 + 33 = 63

63 * 4 + 43 = 316

316 * 5 + 53 = 1705

5. 8,12,24,46,72,108,152 

Answer: 36
