MLHP Roles and Responsibilities: MLHP means Mid Level health Provider, the name taken by the foreign country. In foreign countries, they are called Mid-level practitioners. In India, it is called CHO and in some places, they are called MLHP. MLHPs are most important to conduct the on-campus programs in every assigned village and provide awareness on the health issues.

Doctors -> MLHP-> Nurses.

MLHP profile more than Nurse and less than Doctors. MLHP services are provided at the village health center “Arogya Kendra’s”.

They work in the villages in “Health Centers” Sub Center, these MLHP candidates are acting as ahead of the Health Centers. ANMs and Asha Workers are working under the MLHPs. And PHC Medical officers are mentors of MLHPs. Every health center provides services for 5000 people.

MLHP Roles and Responsibilities

The selection of MLHP are different as per the State and NHM guidelines, Initially, candidates have to clear the State government notification exam and then they are shortlisted for the IGNOU on campus training (6 months training), after 6 months of training, IGNOU conduct the exam, candidates have to pass in the IGNOU exam, they the candidates are eligible for the final posting as an MLHP Providers.
