IPL Schedule: In cricket, IPL is termed the Indian Premier League, a T20 cricket tournament first established in 2008. It is traditionally played from April to June every year, and based on a round-robin group and knockout format; the league features teams from major Indian cities.

Tournament structure

• The League begins with a round-robin tournament where each franchise plays the other twice – home and away. Sides earn two points for a win, while teams earn one point each if there is an abandoned game.
• At the end of the sequence, the top four teams in the standings advance to the playoffs, while the remaining franchises are eliminated.
• The playoffs begin with the first qualifier, where the top two teams in the table play each other, and the winner advances directly to the final.

· Next is the eliminator, where the third and fourth places face each other. The winner moves on to the second qualifier while the loser is eliminated.

· n the second qualifier match, the winner of the eliminator will face the loser of the first playoff match. Winner of that previous game passages to the final.

· It seems a bit complicated on paper, but it’s straightforward to follow, and it’s a better system than straight semi-finals.
